Description

This illustration is inspired by "Le fantastiche avventure di don Pipotte e del suo fedele scudiero Miguel Topancho", a story written by Fausto Vitaliano and illustrated by Claudio Sciarrone first published on Topolino #3155-3157.

As you can easily guess, it's a parody of Miguel de Cervantes' �El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha� where Goofy plays the knight-errant Don Quixote lost between dream and reality while Mickey plays Sancho Panza, his squire.

I found this parody pretty entertaining, funny and imaginative (even though not quite convinced of the final chapter/ending).

EDIT: in the meanwhile, Panini/Disney published an extended one-volume edition of Don Pipotte and I have to say that the additional 12 pages in the final chapter much better explain the finale!

I've always loved Disney parodies and those with Goofy as leading character and Mickey in a supporting role are really hilarious. Congrats on this nice commission!
