Description

Bruce McCorkindale's re-creation of Mac Raboy's cover art to MASTER COMICS #27. Pen, brush, ink and watercolor pencil on 13" x 20" pebble board.

Bruce waited to go ahead with this one until he could get a supply of pebble board that would do the project justice, and results speak for themselves!

Bruce said that he feels like he have just the right amount of control with watercolor pencils or china markers. He used a Derwent INKTENSE (appropriate name) and really love it. Also, it's not too smeary. He sprayed it with fixative and matte acrylic coating, which seemed to really work well.

Bruce suspects that Raboy used some kind of pebble, stipple paper originally too for the cloud effect. He might have used toothbrush splatter for the shading on V statue, but Bruce just went in with quill.
