Description

The Harlem Heroes have taken on Gordon's Gargoyles in the violent game of aeroball, with neither team knowing that arch villain Artie Gruber has infiltrated the android Gargoyle team, using a 'nu-skin' disguise. That's surprising, because the readers had known for weeks. But once hit by an aeroball, the disguise is shattered and the Gargoyles turned on the imposter. Presumed dead, Gruber is sent to a crematorium, but he recovers just in time to escape and... continue his murder spree: "Artie Kill!". Dave Gibbons looked to have had real fun with the detail on the pile of android aeroball player parts in the first couple of panels.

Prime Harlem Heroes - what a great page! I still remember this one from childhood, that's how impactful this beauty is! I am in awe...
