DescriptionTo finish up Ultimate Spider-Man Week, here is the very first appearance of Ultimate Deadpool and the Reavers! Since Deadpool is not on the cover, this really is the first time we seem him in all his glory (he's the one in the very front -- he 'pops' even more on the colorized page). In this universe, Deadpool is Sergeant "Wadey" Wilson, a Gulf War veteran. Depicted as an anti-mutant extremist, he is a cyborg and leader of the Reavers who hunt mutants for sport on a reality TV show. Beneath the mask, Deadpool appears to be a skull with an exposed brain, his skin formed by a transparent shell. He also has the ability to mimic an individual's appearance and voice, though not their powers. In fact, Deadpool gets the drop on Spidey on the preceding page by pretending to be Kitty Pryde, who Peter has just started a romantic relationship with (see additional pic). The Ultimate Universe is full of fun character re-imaginings like this. It's been a lot of fun sharing these pages from Ultimate Spider-Man with you all. I also just realized I got to feature a number of different outstanding inkers (Scott Hanna, Drew Hennessy and John Dell). They all do such great justice to the wonderful pencils of Mr. Bagley. Interesting, I've never been a Deadpool fan, but this Ultimate Deadpool Costume? I really dig it, daddy-o!

The head of the Reavers? That's a great mix-up. And that sounds like one gruesome Deadpool! He isn't pretty, but wow, that sounds...rough. As a What If guy, and as someone who love weird stories, this actually sounds right up my alley. And as you pointed out, the inking is very nice. Cool splash! Congrats!

Sweet first apperance splash! I always thought the Ultimage DP version was cool in how different the mask was BUT you could still tell is was DP. And here...gotta love the classic DP nod of one eye bigger than the other :) Congrats!
