I see I wasn't the only one who missed your birthday. Hope you don't set the symbiotes out after me as well. Run Peter run. Man, Paul takes this birthday stuff serious.

Hahaha, don't worry John, I won't make you sleep under the stairs or sic symbiotes on you for missing my birthday post. You are one of my most loyal (and funny) comment leavers, so you can never do wrong in my book. But yeah, this was Strike Three for Peter, so I was a bit tougher on him.

This must be a reverse present with such a prized image coming back our way! I feel satisfied just seeing this.

That's a really nice sentiment, Marcus. A reverse present. And actually, it's kind of how I felt when I posted it. I also thought about cutiing it into 50 pieces and sending one piece to everyone who has wished me happy birthday, but that seemed extreme. So it'll be more of a symbolic gift.

This is a really stunning piece, as Stevens' pieces usually are! The only thing is, and I'm being serious now, I think I'm even more stunned that I don't see a title, issue number or the word "cover" in your title! You DO like to surprise!

Venom and Carnage are here for your birthday pummeling, Peter. Don't forget the wedgie, fellas! Wow, this is a beauty by Stevens. I dig the strong focal point to draw your eye background to foreground, to really make the action and depth pop. And that color work. You probably shouldn't chop it up, but if you do, I call dibs on a Venom eye. You did birthday week right, Paul. Big congrats!

Not sure what these three are up to, it most likely it will be trouble. Very cool image.

Awesome! I like the tight webbing on Spidey, and those lenses got that '70s live action TV series look :) Venom is the standout to me, though. Love the rendering, the detail on his face, and how the symbiote is just flowing out for a a left arm strike! It's also cool's he's got a little orange color change there due to the lighting. Another worthy add to the collection, man, and I hope you enjoyed your birthday!

I have to assume that Stevens is a Spidey fan given the level of detail that he poured into this. An incredible piece.

Love the lenses - reminiscent of the old school spider movies from the 70s! The entire piece is spectacular!
