DescriptionThis issue marked the end of the "new" Wonder Woman that ran around in the white costume. Also the return of Robert Kanigher, long-time writer on WW. ... And introduced Nubia, also known as... the black Wonder Woman. Here, after fighting to a draw, Nubia unmasks to reveal herself. This complicated the Wonder Woman origin because we later learn that Nubia and Diana are twins. Kelly B has the preceding page featuring the cover scene. GCD originally credited the inks to Vince Colletta but then credited Dick Giordano. But this page has none of DG's style and looks closer to Colletta's. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston and HG Peter. Nubia was created by Robert Kanigher and Don Heck. Social/Sharing |

Fabulous page, from a superb story! That was a great issue, and Heck's fluid and dynamic lines are perfect for the 'new new' Wonder Woman age. Heck always had a great sense of space, and the story is reallt kept moving here, Congrats!

Without a definitive modern Wonder Woman cover out there representing her origin story, key pages like this are highly sought after and should be admired for its historical value.

Very nice Heck page. However, I see no real signs of neither Giordano nor Colletta inks here. It looks more like an all-out Heck job.

It did occur to me that maybe Heck actually inked himself. I'm perfectly OK with that.

I have a Wonder Woman page in my collection pencilled by Don Heck, but the ink is different
