DescriptionA page from the Summer event Armageddon 2001 that ran through all the Annuals from DC Comics.Waverider is investigating "possible" futures of the DC Heroes (If he only had to do this once, what would they do for Adventures of Superman, Detective Comics and Superman silly goose!)to see which is destined to become the villainous despot from his own future era, Monarch! This time Waverider finds a future where Superman is elected as President of the United States of America and with the power of a recently acquired Green Lantern Ring! This is a few pages after the previously posted page, where Hal Jordan returns to give President Superman a Power Battery and officially induct him into the Green Lantern Corp. However, Superman declines the temptation of even more power, and asks that it be granted to another hero. A lot of Inkers on this Annual again (Denis Rodier, Doug Hazlewood,Carlos Garzon, and Brad Vancata), but since Ruben was able to ID the previous page as Carlos Garzon, I'm guessing this page is the same (Unless maybe we've gotten to the Brad Vancata pages). Grummett's is so clear and neat in this page that begins formally as ambassador to head of state, but ends with the personal relationship of Hal and Kal. It's concise storytelling and Grummett makes you feel that transition with panel shapes and pacing.

A cool example of Grummett Green Lantern! Yup, this is still a Garzon inked page. The Vancata inked pages are f@!$ing hideous! I have to assume it was one of his earliest pro jobs though, so I guess it's understandable.
