Description"L'Inferno di Topolino".This is a 1949 story written by Guido Martina and illustrated by Angelo Bioletto. We're talking about one of the first Disney stories fully realized by Italian artists and at the same time the first important one published in "Topolino" (Mickey Mouse) magazine. We're talking about the first "Grande Parodia" (many parodies related to literature and cinema followed). We're talking about history. This is a story every fan of Disney comics in Italy knows and loves. Mickey Mouse is Dante Alighieri, and Goofy is Virgilio. Martina incorporated numerous Disney characters into the story, including those from movies and cartoons. You know I have a thing for this story, and I was so happy that Alberto agreed to do a piece with his peculiar vision! You never know what to expect with him in terms of final result, and that's the sheer beauty of it ^_^ He started it in a more "conventional" way, but then decided it should have been "his own" Inferno... so he used a huge piece of paper, pencils, and paint to craft this peculiar image. A sea of red paint, like melting lava (or blood?), in which two lonely figures are wandering, almost ethereal, like ghosts, and Goofy/Virgil is guiding Mickey/Dante towards the distant light, a small crevice in the background made up of rocky mountains. To truly appreciate it, you should see it in person; the physical size of the piece makes all the difference here. As his usual, a truly unique rendition from Alberto. The visual impact of such a large piece must be remarkable in person!

Marvelous! Calm but distorted landscape, with incredible decomposed ghosts. Edgy and original creepy piece.
