DescriptionPower Girl! Packing heat! By the legendary Ramona Fradon! It’s 5x5!Why is a Kryptonian using a gun? Has she been exposed to Kryptonite and lost her powers? Is she planning to kill Lex Luthor and figures nobody will suspect her if the murder weapon is a gun? Is she trying to impress Frank Castle? I have no idea! And that’s the fun of this piece - coming up with theories as to why Power Girl is using a gun. Please feel free to share your own ideas. Huge thanks to Derek Crabbe for tipping me off when this popped up for sale. I can’t tell you how awesome I think this piece is! Social/Sharing |

Kara's got a gun
Kara's got a gun
Her whole art's by Fradon
I'm lookin' straight at homerun
Is that sauce barbeque?
Is that filled with Au jus?
They said when Kara was arrested
They found gun filled with mayonnaise
But when it's over cookin', now condiments in a gun
Food ain't never gonna taste the same
Kara's got a gun
Kara's got a gun
Hot dog placed in a bun
Now everybody wants to eat some

The truth is, Kara and I were once married. I did love her, but the combination of her super strength and enormous mammaries often had me close to suffocation. I just needed a little less cleavage! So... I regretfully ended up cheating on her. This is our story....
It was January, 1993
When Kara came home, with a gift for me
She said I bought it for you because I love you
And I bought it for you, 'cause it's your birthday, too
She was so very nice, she was so very kind
To think of me, at this point in time
I used to think of her, she used think of me
She told me to close my eyes
My gift would be a great surprise
I saw tears were in her eyes
She never meant to hurt me
Oh, God, Kara! Don't point that gun at me!
There's so many ways our lives have changed
But please, I beg, don't do this to me
Kara! Don't point that gun at me!
Can I save my life at any price?
For God's sake won't you listen to me!
And though she was ashamed that she had took a life
Kara came home with another guy
And she often remembered how it used to be
Before that special occasion, 1993
There's too many ways, that you could kill someone
Like in a love affair, when the love has gone
She use to think of me, she use to think of her
She told me to close my eyes
My gift would be a great surprise
I saw hatred in her eyes
But she never meant to hurt me
Oh, God, Kara! Don't point that gun at me!
There's so many ways our lives have changed
But please, I beg, don't do this to me!
Kara! You keep on using me
Can I change my life for any price?
Oh, Kara, won't you listen to me?
I just want you to be mine,
I don't want this world to shine
I don't want this bridge to burn
Oh, Kara, do you miss me?
I just want to feel free
I will always feel free...
I will always feel free...
I will always feel free...
I will always feel free...

See the part that you might be missing is that this piece looks like its of another time. It wants to look like it pre-dates orange tips on kids guns. Just like I recently found a picture of myself and my brother when I was around 6 and he was around 9. We were both wielding non-orange tipped kids AK-47's lol. Seriously, I am not making this up. Looks like Christmas morning and we are having an all out assault rifle match with each other. No Santa did not bring these toys to the big day. Must have been the parents. However, this leads me to the Power Girl Story. Little did I know as a child that I was of Kryptonian lineage myself. However, I have been told by my parents that they implanted me with a dampner at birth to hide my true identity. The science is way beyond me. Suffice to say, I have yet to express my super powers as I cant find the blasted dampner lol. Anyway, this is just my Aunt Kara Zor-L. She hasn't been around much over the last few years, but back during Chrismas in 85 she decided to join my brother and I with the festivities. Unless you are color blind, you can see that her toy gun was also minus the orange tip. She told my brother and I that she was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D (she was always a huge fan of Marvel) and that she had been tasked to take down a group of gun toting Hydra operatives. Yep, you got it right. I was the bad guy lol. Anyway, Aunt Kara always seemed to win. Later my parents decided to tell me of my lineage as well as Aunt Kara's and thus now I know why the bad guys never win. Because sometimes even the good guy's decide to cheat. Thats right Aunt Kara. I am calling you out on CAF. She never let on about our Kryptonian lineage, but now I know the truth and that is a story for another day. And there you have it. That's why Power Girl was packing heat.

No sadly not part of the Lois and Clark expeditionary team as we like to call them. Clark is my first cousin once removed. You haven't heard of my parents yet as they like to keep a low profile. I would tell you, but it could start an intergalactic war. Well let me just say we were here before Krypton fell and the lies you have been told throughout the years run deep. Krytpon's plight was known well before the events you have been told. There are many others and they don't like the attention if you get my drift. I think I have said to much. If anyone asks about what you know of my family please deny everything for all our sakes. Remember deny, deny, deny as the truth is to dangerous to speak.

Wanna light? :Click: I've always thought bats were cute...End Scene. I'm pretty sure that's how it went down. My mom always says I'm good with teh stories. I have a Fradon sketch, too. Color Metamorpho. Love her work, and am amazed at how she still can draw so well. Great pick-up. Congrats!
