Amazing Spider-Man #790 Pg. 20. Pencils by Stuart Immonen and Inks by Wade Von Grawbadger. Written by Dan Slott and Christos N. Gage.

Peter Parker and Johnny Storm share a few quiet moments together on the roof of the Baxter Building as the sun rises above NYC before Peter is interrupted by a phone call from Joe Robertson, offering him a job opportunity at The Daily Bugle, in this final page of issue 790 leading into the next issue.

This page has a few elements that appeal to me including NYC skyline/skyscraper stuff (Empire State Building!), Spider-Man with his mask half on and off so you get both Peter and Spidey, a solid view of a sunrise, plus Johnny Storm and the Baxter building! For a "non-action" page I am plenty pleased with this example from Slott and Immonen's run on ASM!

I can't believe it. All this time and only now I'm figuring out that is was a cellphone in his suit. Explains his lost relationships. I mean Betty, MJ, Gwen, Cissy, Debra, Felica, Jean, Jill, Sarah, Michelle, Carol, Carlie, Cindy, Lian, Bobbi... how any times did he move in close and use the line that's my spider-sense tingling when all along it was just his phone on vibrate.

Really great quiet piece. Just two old buds relaxing and having a chat on the roof of the Baxter Building (When did they switch the name back from Four Freedoms Plaza?) as they watch the sunrise. I love the lighting effect in the second panel. Immonen is as great at the quiet stuff as he is at the action oriented stuff, as this page obviously proves.
