DescriptionThis is the second page of a 2-page sequence that I am posting tonight, starring none other than REK-RAP, the Bizarro Spider-Man character who was introduced in the previous issue (ASM #17).I am so happy to own his origin pages as well as his 1st full appearance splash: https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1898183 On this page, we get Rek-Rap doing some "web-whanging." POW, POP, POW POW POP! Which is Rek-Rap's backward way of saying "web-slinging." Limbo demons are notorious for screwing up people's names and other stuff as well. For instance, The Insidious Six likes to call Spidey a "Crawlwaller," which really annoys him. So much fun! Thanks for looking, and I'll be posting one more Rek-Rap page later this week! I love how he goes "Silly way to say it, but sure.", like HE's the smart one!
Okay, I'm sold. If this ends up being a collected story arc then I'll be ordering and reading my first Spidey story in decades!

Fantastic AMS page by McGuinness! I love Mcg"s layout here, starting with the Close-up of Spidey and Rek-Rap, then showing Rek-Rap firing off web ball like bullets from a gunslinger's six-shooter! But my favorite panel of all is the final one with Rek-Rap leaping right at the Insidious Six! Oh, and I can't forget to mention--McGuinness' pencils are beautifully inked by Cliff Rathburn!

How could one -not- fall in love with Rek-Rap? SUCH a fun character concept, and so beautifully drawn by Ed... Definitely the high point of this storyline; it feels like everything came alive when he made the scene! And Ed was the perfect choice of artist for this, with his beautiful, bold style providing the over-the-top physicalization for Rek, as well as the incredible energy on the page to stick the landing. Pow! Pop! POP POP POW POP! AWESOME pick up(s), Paul!
