Description

For display purposes, I have generated a copy of the original Title Box and Page One Indicia and placed them on a clear overlay to accompany the page.

The publishing schedule for Star Wars Weekly was accomplished by splitting the stories designed for its monthly US sister magazine into thirds. Since the US version of the book only had one title page per book, additional recap/title pages would have to be generated to bring a reader up to speed for the last two installments of a split story. This is one such recap page, produced to sum up the events of Star Wars Weekly # 64 & 65.

The title page credits include Howard Bender as a 'Tonist.' This must have meant prepping a stat of the original page for publication in a black & white U.K. magazine. Note the extensive use of Zipitone� in the published page, work which is missing from the original art itself.

While Infantino and Day are credited with the art, the actual credits hand-written on the page itself (probably for artist payment purposes, since they didn't get a credit) are Howard Bender and John Tartaglione. They had clearly been instructed to draw in Carmine's style as best they can, as each of their panels are rough approximations of Infantino panels from previous issues.

Very fun as we didn't get to see these in the US. Very much in the comics style with looks based more off the original script and concepts more than the actual film.
