Description

I first read this as the reprint/companion book Doctor Strange/Ghost Rider Special #1. I consider it a beloved Spinner Rack comic book, though it may have been at a more direct market price for the time. I believe I obtained this at a Waldenbooks, which could account for getting a direct market book off the Spinner Rack, as I believe Waldenbooks sometimes would carry Direct Market titles.

While I discovered Ditko's Doctor Strange during college, I have to admit that I wasn't the biggest Doctor Strange guy as a kid back in 1991 when this was coming out. The main draw for me was, of course, Ghost Rider!

However, I do feel like this page exemplifies the era of Doctor Strange that existed as I was growing up. Some nice images of the Sorcerer Supreme along with Ghost Rider, but also then apprentice to Stephen Strange, the green-skinned Minotaur, Rintrah!

Plus, it doesn't hurt that I have no small fondness for Laurel and Hardy (and Brando, too!)!

This magic-fueled panel page featuring Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider (Daniel Ketch), and Rintrah was created in ink over graphite on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 16.5". Slight toning, paste-ups, editorial marks/notes, spot staining, minor smudging, and light edge/handling wear. Signed by Marrinan. In Very Good condition.

Laurel and Hardy plus a randome man and woman who had non-speaking background parts in On the Waterfront? Now THESE are guest appearances for the ages! Who's "Ghost Rider" though? Did he ever appear in any other comic or was this his first and last appearance?

Love this. Great Ghostrider on this. This series is high on my list to read as I have collected it all. One day I will get free I am sure lol.
