DescriptionShe’s done it again! Ramona Fradon just continues to amaze me! She has created another beautiful throwback cover for DC Comics! I really love how the chosen trade dress really fits the art! In the current storyline Lois Lane has taken over as the Editor-In-Chief of the Daily Planet and here we see a comical representation of Lois managing that chaos! We even get an unofficial Brenda Starr Easter egg cameo in the lower right, quite fitting given Ramona’s tenure on the “Brenda Starr, Reporter” comic strip. Also of note has to be Sandra Hope’s clean and incredibly respectful inks. Enhanced and highlights the pencils perfectly! I love this creative pairing! Social/Sharing |

Great to get modern published Fradon and especially in this theme. This throwback to the silver age would have been the perfect title change for a revival of Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane.

Right!! That really would be a great title for a sequel series!

Wow, I'm blown away by this! First of all, I'm thrilled that DC gave Ramona a published cover assignment and I have to wonder, does she now hold the record for "Oldest Artist to Draw a Cover for a Mainstream American Comic Book"? It positively reeks of Golden Age goodness! The Brenda Starr cameo just puts this over the top. I wasn't aware DC had once again restarted the numbering on Superman though. Kudos, Carl!

I agree! Thankfully Ramona still has fans at DC who respect her work and her place within the industry! This is the second one this year (she also did a Metamorpho cover for Tom King's Danger Street #3...can also be found in my gallery. It was inked digitally by Doc Shaner). This one though really is a stand out as it truly does feel like a cover from another time, and it just hits all of those notes perfectly!
As for the series itself, I've yet to read any of it, but from what I understand it's the closet thing yet to recapturing that Triangle Era vibe so I absolutely plan on checking it out!
