DescriptionWhen The Punisher’s attempt to assassinate The Absorbing Man with a sniper shot proves ineffective, he lobs “heavy ordnance” below to finish the job. But there’s a new super hero in town without a name, without a respectable costume, but with a new mentor: The Amazingly Reluctant Spider-Man! What’s the first lesson the novice super hero learns? Don’t catch grenades! "Now I know what capes are for," quips Frank Castle wearing his totally mid-naughts’ streamlined shades. The explosion leaves the good-intentioned rookie undignified. Hailing from Hicksville, Iowa—yes, Hicksville!—The new hero is J. Jonah Jameson’s new ace reporter for the Daily Bugle, Ethan Edwards, a thinly-veiled allusion to Clark Kent. The first three parts of the of the storyline, “Wild Blue Yonder,” has us posit what if Kent joined the Bugle and teamed up with the extraordinarily underpaid photojournalist Peter Parker?11" x 17" Pencil and ink on Marvel board Social/Sharing |

The camera angle switch between panels two and three really help put distance between hunter and prey. Tan and Sibal bring a sharpness and edge to the piece, but even Marvel Knights knew not to go into DC Black Label territory.

Wow! This page blew the pants off me too. Unfortunately I do not have a cape. And it's cold. There is shrinkage. I don't know why, it's like a frightened turtle.

Gorgeous panel page by Jon Sibal and Billy Tan from Marvel Knights Spider-Man. Beautifully laid out and pencilled by Billy Tan, the page features some amazing panels as the Punisher tries to take out the Absorbing Man. Love the contrast between the long shots and close-ups from panel to panel. Nice inked by Jon Sibal with perfect spot blacks. Great pick-up, congrats!
