Description

This is page 41B from the book, first published by Gl�nat, "Les Vacances de Donald", a fully painted effort by the Italian Disney artist Federico Bertolucci.

Federico developed for this book a stunning coloring technique, using different types of colors (gouache, watercolor, etc.), that looks incredible on the original page. When I first saw the printed book, I thought that was achieved with digital colors. Oh boy, was I wrong.

There's a strong "classic cartoon" vibe in the story, emphasized by the lack of text/balloons (all the story is visually told), and the gorgeous colors also help with that.

My most unexpected pickup at LCCAF 2022 (where I was also lucky to get a comic con commission by Federico, this outstanding Scrooge McDuck that would have made Carl Barks proud).

You're right about the classic cartoon vibe: Donald is acting just like Wile E. Coyote, and I can easily imagine the consequences 😹 Great page!
