Description

This one is a bit of a mystery to me... clearly Tom Sutton art, but what little nomenclature is present suggests it was produced for a McDonald's Drink Cup or Happy Meal.

STAR TREK IV was released in November of 1986.

Well, McDonald's promotional items are pretty well documented online from what I can tell, and Star Trek promotional items doubly so, and I cannot find an example of a food item with this (or any other Sutton artwork) present. So maybe the art was produced on spec, or the project was scrapped, or went with a different artist.

In the absence of a final product, I'm going to call this an unpublished 'pin-up.'

If anyone out there has more information, I'd love to hear.

Star Trek IV had no Klingons and the Enterprise was destroyed in III, so they created this based on Star Trek III's plot that was released two years prior? Quite illogical.
