Description

A definite grail of mine, a Matt Wagner page of original art from Mage #15, p. 13 featuring Kevin Matchstick just whopping a whole ton of Red Caps. This was such a memorable scene from the comics. I also have the blue line page with original colors to accompany this page. Enormous thanks to D for making this page available.

Great cartooning by Wagner having Kevin posed so casually smacking these little guys away until they decide to join up for one big melee!

Another Wagner home run here, Josh!! AND you got the color page, TOO?!? Make that a Wagner GRAND SLAM home run! :). Impossible to not remember this moment from the books, regardless of how much time has passed since the viewer first read it. This goes beyond the hero's "Discovery" right to their realization / definition; Kevin embracing his power and accepting his role in making a deliberate and conscious choice to wield it for good. Beautiful work by Matt Wagner - another treasure in your incredible collection of treasures, Josh! CONGRATS! :)
