Description

Irv Novick pencils and Dick Giordano inks, Detective Comics #418 page 3 from 1971.

Batman takes some punches here from Jack Ryder, aka The Creeper from the story "...And Be A Villain", in these dynamic panels by one of the most underrated artists ever to draw Batman, Irv Novick.

Batman is in action in every panel! I love that cape!

Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 14.5". From the Irv Novick Family Collection.

Great age of Batman where Neal Adams opened the door for super dynamic in your face fighting action! Taking this cue are Irv Novick and Dick Giordano that put a lot more action and moody atmosphere into the page! Nice Creeper laughter!

Stunnning Batman page from Irv Novick and Dick Giordano! Really, one of the best action pages I've seen from these two. Love that top panel with the Creeper attacking Batman from behind. Also love that fourth panel closeup of the Creeper slugging Bats! The whole page is incredibly fluid as Novick and Giordano keep the action going. Great pick-up, congrats!
