DescriptionNot quite done posting Caniff, just the Terrys are done for now. This is one of two Steve Canyons from 1947 I'll be posting. Although my preference is for pre-war Caniff art, by the end of his run on Terry his art style had fully matured and this is what he took with him to Steve Canyon. These early Canyon dailies (this one being from the first year) are really nice and Caniff's maturity and confidence are palpable. Deen Redwood appears in this one along with Steve.Social/Sharing |

Great panel in the middle to highlight the exotic locale! Only movie epics of the time could pack so much set direction onto a single frame.

Beautifully drawn! And I have to agree with Marcus...that middle panel is stunning with all of that detail!
