DescriptionTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo by Mateus SantoloucoArt by Mateus Santolouco With the release of the 2023 Animated Film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem I was able to rediscover my love and appreciation of my favorite “Heroes in a Half Shell. ” The film was an absolute joy and one of my favorite films of 2023. During the summer I took a deep dive into the IDW TMNT book written by Tom Waltz and Kevin Eastman and I have been enjoying it immensely. It captures what I loved about the characters and premise while adding an elegant sophistication and never forgetting what it is. My favorite artist from the series was Mateus Santolouco. I loved his style and designs for the Turtles. Because I was late to the party most of his pages featuring the Turltes are already in other collectors collections. So when this piece was listed on Cadence I leapt at the chance. It beautiful in person I love the detail and technique Santolouco incorporates into this illustration. I hope to grab the right published page in the near future. Social/Sharing |

Liking that more subdued calm expression for Leo here...works perfectly. Also some great tonal work, and the blue in his sash really pops. Congrats!
