DescriptionI finally have both pieces to this cover. Here is the story as Kaluta tells me. This original watercolored art was the original design for the cover. Someone didn't like the look of Lucifer's face as drawn and so an editor at DC requested Kaluta do a different Lucifer Face. The hand drawn/watercolored 'new' face was created to digitally replace the original face on this piece. The published cover was cobbled together with the new face, assembled in Photoshop. Both the original 'new' face as drawn and the final published cover are in the additional images.Thanks, Michael for your fantastic works of art. Social/Sharing |

Nice art deco touches in background design with a dark supernatural touch! Kaluta is ever the master illustrator adding a touch of class to any of his comic covers!

It's hard to comprehend why the original need changing. Congrats on the quest to have both parts to tell the interesting tale. There were such nice covers on this series.
