"This Time, Why Not The Worst?"

That was the slogan for the National Radical Meadow Party's presidential ticket of Bill the Cat and Opus in Berke Breathed's Bloom County strip in 1984!

Here's a very memorable, relatively early daily from the Pulitzer Prize-winning comic strip. It features the comic's most popular and enduring character, Opus, before a late 1983 re-design that made him look less literally like the penguin he is supposed to be, trying out his status as the Meadow Party's 1984 VP candidate as a pick-up line!

I feel like this particular strip has been reprinted or has otherwise been used online as it is very memorable to me, and not just from reading it in the paper back in the day. Really happy to pick this one up for the collection in this election year!
