DescriptionA page with Goe-Magot who only appears in a few pages before Kevin dispatches him. From the Annotated Mage: In a very little known part of the legend of King Arthur, Arthur and his armies stop in the outskirts of Brittany. Arthur hears of a giant, living on top of St. Michael's mount. He would steal children walking on the patch by his cave and devour them. Arthur searches and finds the giant, and once doing so they fight. Exchanging only two blows with their weapons, Arthur and the giant end up wrestling down the mountain. Arthur ends the battle with his dagger. Similarly, after killing the dragon, Kevin finds a cave and upon entering it discovers a giant. The giant introduces himself as Goe-Magot, and convinces Kevin to lay aside his weapon so they can "tumble". Kevin wrestles a bit with the giant and finally throws him into the bottomless pit. The blue-line consists of an acetate overlay of the pencil and ink page and a separate board containing a blue-line reproduction of the original page; Matt Wagner hand-colored the blue-line himself and has signed the piece. The original blue-line is done on a board that measures approx. 7 1/2" x 10 1/4" with an image area that is approx. that of the published comic book. Thanks to Jim Warden! Social/Sharing |

These colored pages are such gems. I see you are cornering the market on Wagner colored art.

Awesome page! Matt Wagner has told the story of how they added all the page numbers to the last issue by hand and just barely made the deadline to get the pages to the printer.

Wow, incredible! It was really a hands-on experience back in those days, with everything done by hand and FedExed to publishers.
