DescriptionI just can't get enough Curt Swan pages. It's interesting to note the slight differences that each inker brought to the final product. This is the first page I have acquired inked by Bob Oksner, The first thing I noticed about this page is how dark the blacks are, especially on the car. Great overall page showcasing Superman's abilities including x-reay vision, flight and super strength.Social/Sharing |

Oksner is a great inker and he's a great penciller in his own right. He's able to take a step back and let the signature Curt Swan imagery play out with so many different poses of action on this page.

Well said Marcus. I was trying to put that into words in my description but couldn't find the right verbage. Glad to welcome your discerning eye.

While Murphy anderson is my favourite inker over Swan, I also dig the work Oksner did. But for me, this page was all abotu the content, with superman in action, showcasing some of his powers, but especially his super strength. I was very tempted to bid on this page myself. Nice grab, Lee!

Thanks Ruben. Glad you didn't bid, don't think I could have held out much longer.

lots of great images on this one page! I especially like the bottom 2 panels with the car - perhaps an Action 1 nod/homage even to some degree

Kavi, I did not even consider a nod to Action #1. Perhaps

Just beautiful. Makes me smile. Curt Swan was a freakin Superman himself.
My first comic was Action 463 (Sept. 1976), also by Swan, just two months after this was published. I am lucky enough to own a page from that.
I don't think I have ever seen a Swan page with zip-a-tone.

Tom, so great that you have a page from your first Superman comic. I hope I can do that someday.
