Description

Babs Tarr (of Burnside Batgirl fame) has contributed art to several exhibitions at Gallery Nucleus in LA, including a few solo shows with pin-ups based around her Ultramelon brand.� I missed her 2020 show (which had some great pieces) and didn't find anything I loved in her 2021 show, so I wasn't sure how her 2024 show would turn out when it was announced.

I only caught a couple glimpses of this piece on her Instagram/Twitch feeds, but I really liked how it looked.� It's a sexy pose with a ponytail floating in the wind, but I also dig the fashion choices here- the sheer top, the seashell earrings and necklace (almost a Little Mermaid nod).� And so many screentones! It also has a vibe that reminds me of Michael Turner's pin-up art, and maybe that's where the title came from.� Either way, I've been a fan of Babs's sexy/fashion pin-ups, so I'm glad to be able to pick this up.
