Most likely written by Paul Levitz.

The main image is inked on vellum and the backgrounds inked on the board. The Curt Swan pencils of the main image can be faintly seen on the original art but does not show up on the scan.

Real Name: Imra Ardeen (Ranzz)
Super Power(s): Mental Telepathy
Planet of Origin: Titan, a moon of Saturn
Legion Seniority: Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, and Lightning Lad were the three founders of the Legion.
She first appeared in Adventure #247 (1958).
She married Garth Ranzz (Lighting Lad) in All-New Collectors' Edition #C-55 (1978) and they had a son Graym in Legion of Super-Heroes Annual #3 (1984).

Saturn Girl was an important figure in the Legion. She was always portrayed as a strong female figure. She was elected twice as Legion leader, the first time in Adventure 304 (1963). At the time when Marvel had no strong female super-heroes, DC was leading the way with Wonder Woman and Saturn Girl.

Paula Cole provides the eponymous song for this piece.

I find Kesel modernized the main figure a bit too much, but all the background art on the second board looks like a perfect combination of modern, 1980's sensibilities, along with the classic, Silver Age style Swan had. Kesel is one of the absolute best inkers of the past 40 years, yet most fans don't even realize it.
