DescriptionThis is David Wright's pulp fiction cover to Murder Down Below by James Stagg as installment 397 of the Sexton Blake library with a publicatiom date of January 1958.The Sexton Blake Library was a story paper published by Amalgamated Press from 1915 - 1968. It featured the adventures of private detective Sexton Blake, his boy assistant Tinker and their dog Pedro. It made its debut as a pocket-sized digest on September 20, 1915 and ran uninterrupted until June 1963. After a brief hiatus, it returned in paperback format in February 1965 and ran for 45 issues until October 1968 This piece was also featured on page 179 of Terry Parker’s ‘Sirens: The Pin-Up Art of David Wright’, the definitive examination of David Wright’s commercial illustration and pin-up work. It's like she's staring straight into the soul of the viewer. A really alluring and intriguing cover image by Wright. The warmer colors and tones for the background and her clothing play so well off her jet black hair and red lipstick. The piece has a layered texture that practically pops off the canvas and into 3D. Congrats on this, it's a real beauty!

You need to add a description to your Wright Gallery to explain how one person got so many amazing pieces. Was there an estate sale or what is the back story to this amazing stash. This one is as fabulous as the others and reminds me of Liz Taylor. Congrats!
