Description

This drawing by artist Luke McDonnell of the Thing and Sandman sharing a couple of frosty brews (a la Marvel Two in One # 86) was a surprise gift from friend, fellow "themed" art collector and keeper of the Brotherhood, Damon Owens, in celebration of the birth of my son (in 2008).

Jump ahead a few years and I was able to connect with inker/letterer Bruce Patterson (Camelot 3000, Green Lantern, Justice League, Micronauts, Wonder Woman) via his eBay auctions. Quick as you please, Bruce had this drawing inked and back in the friendly confines of the Yancy Street Preservation Society headquarters. I highly recommend Bruce's commission work to anyone interested.

My thanks to all involved, but especially to Damon for this incredibly thoughtful gift.

Man, three years already -- seems just like yesterday you were telling us about his impending birth, now he's three years old. Gorgeous inks by Patterson.
