TT 28 - "Blindspot" - written by Steve Skeates features a very rare double page spread by Nick.
Aqualad (first appearance since TT 19) is searching for Wonder Girl (AKA Donna Troy) and meets her roommate, Sharon Tracy. She's repressed some horrible memory. Determined to help Sharon, Aqualad encounters the Teen Titans for the first time since the death of Dr Svenson, meeting Lilith, Mal, Hawk & Dove and Mr Jupiter and their outer space voyage.
TT 28 happens to be one of my favorite issues. Nick's art is great and the story was exciting. I got TT 28 as a back issue when I was a kid and it was a long time before I read the 2nd part of the story in TT 29. My esteem for TT 28 only increased over the years and I was greatly disappointed in TT 29. I guess TT 29 could not live up to my building expectations.
There was a 2 page spread, very rare for Nick. Almost all of the story takes place in the night or low light, there was a very different color palette. And it was a rare 2 part story. And Ocean Master makes an appearance. And there's cool psychedelic pages. And it was written by Steve Skeates. By this time, there had been several stories without Bob Haney. The Teen Titans were definitely less campy. But there were very few comic artists that could have pulled off this issue in its day.
If you have a page from this issue, I would L O V E to acquire it.
