Ostrander a took the bones of the Magnificent Seven, tied it together with a bunch of deconstructed Marvel western characters, and gave us a fun read. Manco's art was often spectacular. This page with Caleb Hammer, Gunhawk and the Nightriders is a wonderful mix of details art and mood. Cheers.

What a great page! It has classic Bronze Age swashbuckling-imbued costuming, alien designs, space adventuring, and family drama all on one page. Also, it is a fine example of why I think Granger was one of Cockrum's best inkers.

I know it doesn't have the optical effect, but in a weird way it reminds of M.C Escher's "Sky and Water." Regardless, it is fascinating in its own right for its own reasons, and I dig the black light effect.

No swords or sorcery, but, damn, what a page. Barry was making leaps and bounds artistically in each issue, and he handled the drama deftly from panel to panel. Also, I agree that Sal's inks are superb. Cheers!
