I'll never get tired of looking at pages with Lightle inking Lightle. 

The Invisibles had a lot of artists but Weston was probably my favorite.

Congratulations on getting through another month. It's hard to look at this page with anything but glasses fogged by nostalgia for this era when I, and everyone else, was so hungry for anything Star Wars related. I remember reading this issue and the next one enthralled by Sk'ar of all characters. You really have to respect the Marvel writers and the tough position they were put in. They did heir best to keep up enthusiasm for the comic without really being able to advance the main plot.

Great throwback to a wonderful era in comics when a great new series appeared almost every week in the shops. 

Bravo! Brings back some memories.The Falcon always seemed more detailed in the comics than it did in the movies.

Everyone needs a Tancredi original in their collection. 

Didn't bother me. PAHR becomes a mystery/suspense film although it doesn't start that way. It starts relatively innocently, as this piece conveys, with the three girls setting off from their group to explore. 

Really solid work by Hitch on this run. A lot happened during his and Millar's time on the book. From this story, I recall Doom having to survive millenia just to get back to the present day. I don't remember whether this was ever picked up on by later writers or if the story was eased out of continuity. 

 

Nice shadowy work. Could've sworn this was Gabriel Hardman's art.

Interesting that for the published cover they only used half of the skull. Seems like a mistake not to use the full impactful rendering by Guice. 

Wow. Definitely remember this one. Great to see Skeev and Aahz again. It's like seeing old friends after too long apart. 

"Charm" is the quality I most associate with Foglio's writing and art and this piece has it in abundance. Sure, his pure cartooning skills and the vibrancy of his color work are apparent but the quality of his character design (look at the face on that unicorn) and the staging of the action are just so charming...a quality that was rare in the comics of the day (probably still is). 

Big John probably knocked this out in an hour and, naturally, it's perfect.  

Definitely another one for the "whatver happened to...?" file. No idea he had any work other than his Aquaman stint. 

I'm not sure "congrats" is the exact right thing to say...but maybe it is?

Jaime had "it" from issue #1 but this is where he really started to bring it all together as a writer and artist. Congratulations!

I tried reading The First Kingdom when it was collected by Titan Books but couldn't make it through. Nevertheless, I respected Jack's ambition and his early willingness to create works outside the major comics companies. This piece and his other pages show the kind of talent he brought to the drawing boards over 70+ years of comics.

Always thought Vanth was a bit of a drip so I don't miss him at all on this page. Loved Oedi and Syzygy as characters.

When I watched Droids back in the day, I wasn't a fan of the character designs, especially Threepio. Now, I just find them incredibly charming...as this piece shows. Love the great droid body language.

As you said, the addition of Jarvis really sets this apart and makes one more curious about the interior story than the usual jumble of figures might. Like you, I also prefer when Immonen has an inker like von Grawbadger but Immonen is still Immonen regardless.

Another gorgeous example from the issue. I feel compelled to say how great Spiegle is nearly every time. Was not disappointed at all that McManus didn't do the interiors.
