Moonknight - Bill Sienkiewicz 1982 Owner: AKA Evillabrats Comment posted on 5/25/2012 I love CAF because of the treasuries you can find, like this drawing. It's really cool!! But are you sure that it was done in 1979? Style looks from a later age. In 1979 Sienkiewicz was doing the back ups for Rampaging Hulk, when he was almost an Adams clone, and this comission looks from when he already found his own style. Thanks for sharing! |

John Byrne The Last Galactus Story Back of Page 46 Owner: Bill Roberge Comment posted on 1/13/2012 I think that these are one of the first sketches that Byrne did for The Man of Steel, in spite that he drawed them one year before the distribution of the series. Your original was published in Epic Illustrated #33, which had cover date of December, 1985, which hit the stores around a couple of months before, in October. Since comics are produced a couple of months before their distribution, we could assume that this page was drawn around August or before. According the article published in Amazing Heroes #96, Byrne got green light for the project from Dick Giordano in a party that Byrne gave when he moved to Connecticut the July 25th, 1985. So dates match. So congrats, they are historical sketches! And thanks for sharing them. |

Batman #400, p.20 Owner: Kelvin Mao Comment posted on 11/30/2009 FANTASTIC!! This is a great sample to show why I'm hoocked with Sienkiewicz's work of that age! This issue was one of the finest jam issues ever done, maybe second to Superman #400. The painted cover by Sienki was memorable, and his interpretation of Batman blowed my mind in my teens. Congrats, and thanks for sharing! |

Bill Sienkiewicz wizard illo from Atlantean "The Bestiary" (1986) Owner: Tom Coker Comment posted on 11/26/2009 It was published in the second book of the Atlantean Trilogy Series, called "The Bestiary, a compendium of creatures and beins from the lost world of Atlantis". The book contains dozens of illustrations by Sienkiewicz, and it's a must for his fans. Your piece showed in the pag 86. Congrats for your piece! It's one of the nicest samples of the book! |

John Byrne CAPTAIN AMERICA DPS Owner: TIM TOWNSEND Comment posted on 11/2/2009 I can't believe that I still didn't comment it! This piece is incredible (like you didn't know!), and imho, it's the best sample of pure pencils of Byrne's peak work. As you said, this piece has everything you could dream from Capi's history, and it's better than any of the covers of the run. BTW, since Joe Rubinstein is credited in this issue, I wondered which was his contribution if this piece looks 100% penciled. Joe told me... "I went over the photostats of the pencils with ink. Lines were weak or disappeared all together so i went over them. I didn't do any actual inking except for inking the last page (one panel was drawn by Marie Severin) but I did no actual inking /changes to John's pencils." |
