Frazetta 'BloodStone' color preliminary Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 6/3/2009 So we're talking the size of a postcard here, roughly the size of an actual paperback book's cover...AND LOOK HOW MUCH BEAUTY AND ENERGY HE GOT IN THERE!!! Fantastic piece, made moreso as I picture those dimensions. When did you acquire these, and thanks for sharing! |

Wagner, Matt Owner: John Higashi Comment posted on 5/26/2009 Wow, very nice, more than good enough to be a cover to a Jedi book of some sort. Beautiful piece by Wagner, congrats! |

Star Wars Weekly 11 cover Owner: Joseph Melchior Comment posted on 5/25/2009 While it may or may not actually be by Buckler, way to go Will K for the Adams comment...BWAH-HA-HA! Very funny, I get that. And congrats on acquiring that piece of your childhood, that's what makes a lot of this stuff so special, good for you Joseph! |

SLAVE LEIA Owner: E DLS Comment posted on 5/25/2009 Leia's face and body have a very Dave Stevens-ish (Stevenesque? whatever...) quality to them, which is obviously a compliment. Terrific job, might consider getting something from him myself. Maybe if I can get to Super-Con in 2010?!? |

Batman & Catwoman by Paul Smith Owner: Wayne Mousseau Comment posted on 5/23/2009 Very nice! Beautiful drawing, and cool concept, tells a story in addition to looking pretty! And knowing Smitty, you'll have the finished product in your hands inside a week! Congrats! |

Alan Davis Green Lantern take 2 Owner: Gerry Turnbull Comment posted on 5/23/2009 You know, I like this one better, seems to have more of that "outer space" feel to it. And I've never seen Alan Davis pull off such a good Neal Adams! |

Tarzan at the Dum Dum Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 5/19/2009 Very beautiful. I'm sure the shading looks much better in person, but it comes across quite well in the scan. Each of the apes seems to have personality as well, helped by the subtle shading on the faces. Fantastic, thanks for sharing! |

At Home with Dr Strange, day version Owner: Gerry Turnbull Comment posted on 5/18/2009 Pretty cool! Love the Harry Potter books! What Byrne piece is this 'sorta' based on? And am I seeing things, or in that portrait of Dormammu, is he...smoking?!? Bwah-ha-ha-ha!!! |

Gumby#1 pg 7 -Art Adams Owner: Peter Fisico Comment posted on 5/7/2009 Very cool! While Gumby pages are not my favorite by Adams (too many simple shapes, not enough to fully utilize his drawing talent, IMHO), he does manage to get across that complete sense of pure fun. Adams imbues his "regular/serious" comics work with amusement anyway, so when he's given characters rooted in silliness, watch out! Terrific pick-up, congrats! |

Thor Owner: Peter Ward Comment posted on 5/3/2009 Never seen a McKeever Thor before, looks great! Reminds me of a cross between Walt Simonson and Sam Kieth... |

Adams, Arthur - Longshot 3 Pg 21 Owner: Ken Fries Comment posted on 5/1/2009 It is hard to see, because it's in pencil only, but on the bottom, below the middle panel, just under the whiteout, Adams has written "More pizza", with an arrow pointing each way, towards small stains that he circled in pencil, and then slightly off to the right he also put, in parenthesis, "Ugh." Due to the fact that it says MORE pizza, I'm guessing there are some pages from earlier in the series that may have similar personal touches from the 'hand' of Mr. Adams. Any other Longshot page owners notice this? |

Marvel Comics Presents #10, p.27 Owner: Kelvin Mao Comment posted on 4/29/2009 I have one of these, but you may have the best possible page of the whole story! Leonardi always did a great Colossus, and Russell was an excellent choice as an inker for him. Congrats, thanks for sharing! |

Sienkiewicz - Ghost Rider poster art Owner: Francesco Bazzana Comment posted on 4/28/2009 Oh my...never even seen this piece before, looks incredible, the colors on the original must be blindingly brilliant! Thanks for sharing! Where do you keep getting this stuff?!? |

Frank Miller Daredevil Cover (1982) Owner: Tom Coker Comment posted on 4/24/2009 The Comics Journal this was the cover to has one of the best interviews I've ever read. The cover was a perfect complement to the interview, Eisner-esque, pre-dating Sin City (as previously mentioned), and a truly brilliant overuse of lighting to achieve a more impressionable image. Had him sign my Comics Journal years ago, just because I loved it so much. Looks even better without the cover copy. Thanks for sharing, and congrats! |

Brian Bolland 2000AD Dredd Prog 225 Cover (1981) Judge Death & Dark Judges! Owner: Tom Coker Comment posted on 4/24/2009 You have to be kidding! Probably the single greatest Bolland image ever! Congrats on getting it (TWICE?!?), truly stunning piece! One of my favorite Bolland stories, made a tremendous impression on me in my younger days. I'd let you buy it back if you ever wanted to acquire it a third time... |

Black Knight by Paul Smith Owner: Edd Walker Comment posted on 4/17/2009 Beautiful...love the armor, the sword holder, the boots, everything! Stunning detail for a convention sketch. Fond memories of Smitty's Dr. Strange run in which The Black Knight played a major role, great pick-up! |

Colossus by Paul Smith Owner: Mark Schweikert Comment posted on 4/11/2009 Very nice! You beat me to it; had I been able to go to Seattle this year, this is what I would've gotten! I love how even in a con sketch, Smitty still takes the time to draw in every line in Colossus' armored body...great pick-up! |
Joker-Golden Owner: aric shapiro Comment posted on 4/1/2009 Golden and Steve Rude are 2 masters at creating forms and shapes merely with light and shadow, not merely drawing something with black lines around it to delineate it. This is a beautiful example of it, and getting across the Joker's manic/psychotic personality to boot makes for an amazing commission. Congrats! |

Neil Vokes Patrick McGoohan montage, with Number 6,John Drake and Dr Syn Owner: Gerry Turnbull Comment posted on 3/19/2009 Excellent...commissioned before or after McGoohan's recent passing, or because of? |

GL/GA #87 What Can One Man Do? penciled Adams Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 3/7/2009 The page is beautiful, but it makes me think; what will need more of an explanation soon, that phones had cords, or that comics used to be drawn on paper with pencil?!? |
Swamp Thing 3 Patchwork Man (Frankenstein) Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 3/4/2009 An arm and a leg to get a Wrightson Frankenstein...I get that...and I love the detail on the bridge in the last panel, showing where his work would be heading soon. Fantastic pick-up, congrats! |

X-Men 175 pg 5 by Paul Smith Owner: Joseph Melchior Comment posted on 3/2/2009 Beautiful page from an amazing run in comcis history. Love the detail on the figures, and even in b&w, Smitty's Colossus shines and glistens! |

Detective Comics #628 Batman Cover by Michael Golden Owner: Jonathan H Comment posted on 2/20/2009 A true stunner. The half-dozen or so covers he did for Detective at that time are some of the most amazing pieces ever done for comics. Congrats on getting a 'modest' piece to fill your Golden gap!. ;) |

Black Panther by Michael Golden Owner: F M Comment posted on 2/16/2009 Happy Birthday indeed! Brilliantly beautiful piece, excellent use of negative space, as you mentioned! Never really cared about Black Panther one way or the other, but it's about the amazing Golden artwork! Wonderful pick-up, congrats! |

Jack B. Quick and his folks by Kevin Nowlan Owner: Doctor Fantastic Comment posted on 2/12/2009 What I would have asked for, too! Let's see, I went to NYCC in 2007 and 2008, Kevin went in 2006 and 2009. I'm going in 2010. Any bets on Kevin? |

Thanos by Walter Simonson Owner: Steven Hoveke Comment posted on 2/11/2009 This is really fantastic, and a perfect choice for someone with Simonson'a ability to convey power in a drawing. OK, gotta know, how is Walter your good friend (and gifting you with things like...well, like this!?!)? |

Golden, Michael. The NAM. # 1 Page 14 Owner: K Hutson Comment posted on 2/4/2009 Beautiful page from an important book. That bottom panel alone is worth it...look at all the machinery, and all the wonderful detail work. Fantastic pick up! |

Frank Frazetta: Darkness Weaves water color study Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 2/3/2009 Filled with power and energy, another artist who doesn't really understand the meaning of "prelim" (and that's a good thing!). Wonderful collection Rob! |
Clea Owner: Steve Rude Comment posted on 2/3/2009 I think I find the pose to be an interesting choice, simply because I don't think I've ever seen that before; the uniqueness of it makes this work! |

Daredevil 232, p01 Owner: Dennis Pu Comment posted on 1/30/2009 Maybe the first Frank Miller comic I bought off the stands (I passed on Dark Knight 1 at the time...$2.95 was my whole week's allowance!!), so this particular page has special meaning for me. And Mazzucchelli was really at the top of his game by here. Even within the course of this Miller storyline, Mazzucchelli's art progressed and improved (compare 227 to 233). Beautiful piece! |

Bolland-Dredd Prelim Owner: Gary Morita Comment posted on 1/30/2009 This is the quintessential Bolland Dredd piece...grim puss, raised, smoking gun, eagle on the shoulder, all incredibly finely detailed..."prelim"...he really doesn't know what that means, does he? Amazing piece! |

Daredevil#183 Unused page-Frank Miller Owner: Peter Fisico Comment posted on 1/28/2009 This was probably supposed to be the last page to Daredevil 166, when 167 was supposed to be the Angel Dust issue (which Marvel put the kibosh on for fear of not passing the Comics Code). Look at the difference in style to 183, which was roughly a year-and-a-half later. Fantastic piece on many levels, including historical importance in Miller's career! Where did you find this gem?!? Congrats! |
Sienkiewicz - Daredevil: Love and war p.27 Owner: Francesco Bazzana Comment posted on 1/27/2009 Stunning...even wordless, tells a beautiful story...fantastic! |
Black Canary Owner: Steve Rude Comment posted on 1/27/2009 I really like the technique used on this, forming shapes without using any outlines, just subtle indications of shadows. Beautiful! |
Elephant Tower - Conan Owner: Phil C Comment posted on 1/19/2009 Stunning piece...these Conan Saga covers were my intro to BWS Conan, very fond memories of those covers, and the B&W version shows off even more incredible detail and linework. Congrats on a fantastic piece, thanks for sharing! |

X-Men#237 pg22 -Rick Leonardi Owner: Peter Fisico Comment posted on 1/7/2009 Nice Leonardi X-Men examples, especially this one, excellent full-on team shot! Always liked his version of Colossus. Great pages, thanks for sharing! |

Uncanny X-men 212 Cover Owner: David Mandel Comment posted on 1/7/2009 I see you changed your title for it, but I'll ask anyway...why does the cover logo say 200 when this was the cover to 212? Regardless, amazing, fantastic piece, BWS in his prime (at least as far as comic book work goes), and the cover to 205 would be incredible, too! |
