Norman Rockwell ad? Owner: Atilla A Comment posted on 6/5/2021 GREAT piece! It could also possibly be another illustration legend, Haddon Sundblom, who was best known for his Coca-Cola Santa ads. Or even one of Sunblom's proteges, many of whom became legends in their own right (Chuck Showalter, Gil Elvgren, etc.)- they did advertising work out of a Chicago studio and often used that kind of "lush" red in their shadows. |

Maybe he also suggested something else to put in open space where the oar had been. Again, this is a great story and I thank you for sharing it and your artwork. Thanks Marcus! If memory serves correct, I think he thought it better if the meteor went overlapped the moon... and the moon was reflected in the water/open space where the oar originally was. Both points were absolutely great advice!!! |

I always think of Georgi's later pretty girls and innovative use of colors, but this is completely different. In addition to being such an early depiction of Frankenstein, it is just a beautiful painting- it almost has a Moebius before Moebius feel... mostly flat color with a touch of lighting, texture and rendering! |
