Bernie Wrightson - The Swamp Thing Owner: Michael Diaz Comment posted on 4/27/2013 This Swamp Thing portrait is heartbreaking. It conveys horror, yes, but through sadness, and melancholy. When private commissions go so beautiful I pity the publishing world and public, that will never see them. Thanks for sharing. |

Marvel Fanfare #18 p.9 Cap. America - Frank Miller Owner: J B Comment posted on 4/27/2013 Brilliant page from on of the Masters. This story was so good, it makes me regret that Miller didn't have the chance to rework Cap's heritage the way he was allowed to do on Devil or Batman - he would have done something big, I am sure. |

William Stout John Carter and the Plant man Owner: Guido de Bue Comment posted on 4/26/2013 A really wonderful piece! I especially like the background, so simple and at the same time so original. And the plant man, what a great charachter: from the face he looks rather harmless, but if you look at the hand, you quickly change idea! Great piece. |

Cerebus Issue 50, Page 1 Owner: Greg Kessler Comment posted on 3/28/2013 No less than an iconic piece. The reverse layout, the creative use of lettering, the extreme meaningfullness of all that void space... does anybody really need a more reliable proof of the genius of Dave Sim? I don't. Congrats on a great acquisition. |

Bob Dylan by Andy Bennett Owner: J. Hollon Comment posted on 2/23/2013 This is really something. I love the background. I have to say, Bob Dylan status in pop culture makes him just a perfect choice for a commission, no less than King Kong, or the Thing, or Yoda. I wonder how strange must be for him to see his face every morning in the mirror ("Oh my God! That's Bob Dylan!"). |
King Kong by John Byrne Owner: J. Hollon Comment posted on 2/23/2013 Just great. Great choice for the original Kong, great choice for the angle. A stellar piece. |
Cerebus and Woman-Thing by Dave Sim Owner: J. Hollon Comment posted on 2/23/2013 I am always stunned to see how incredibly meaningful every Sim commission is. I am under the impression that he receives "better" requests than other artists, but the amount of effort that Dave brings on the table makes him by far the best commission artist around today - in my opinion. This work you have here, it's wonderful. Congrats to you, both. |

Elektra Saga Book 1, page 26 Owner: Oystein Sorensen Comment posted on 2/10/2013 Inks: Miller, for sure - as stated in the 1981 interview reprinted at the end of the Daredevil Omnibus volume. Miller says there that this was some of his firt inking work, and Janson jokes about people asking him if he helped inking the story - and he clearly says that he didn't. |
Elektra Saga Book 1, page 25 Owner: Oystein Sorensen Comment posted on 2/10/2013 Oysten: I just read in the 1981 Peter Sanderson interview with Miller and Janson that closes the italian Omnibus edition of Daredevil that this story has been inked by Miller himself. These pages originally appeared in Bizarre Adventures, and were later reprinted in the Elektra Saga. In the 6th page of the interview is clearly stated that the inks of the Bizarre Adventures story were done by Miller. I think you can update your description, and wipe out the question point! |

JOHN ROMITA JR - STAR BRAND #6 PAGE 24 (DEAD DUCK!) Owner: C . Comment posted on 2/9/2013 I thought Starbrand was the best in the world, too... so many memories. Very nice page you have here, Carlos. Ken flying in suburbia is just like Spidey swinging around the Manhatthan buildings. |

Angel by Mitch Breitweiser Owner: larry clay Comment posted on 2/6/2013 This set of commissions of the original X-Men is beautiful, all the pieces - but this Angel is special. Tthe five characters of the beginnings had the innocence of frightened kids, similar to the one of the Lee/Ditko Spiderman. That innocence went lost in the Claremont reload, and then forgot - but these drawings convey this ancient memory very, very well. Beautiful series. |
