This is sooooo sweet! I mean, it's got it all, even if it's just Jesse: great character, beautiful setting, perfectly fit title, to-the-point "dialogue". Ennis/Dillon are such an outstanding team!

Whoa! I mean, WHOA!!! As soon as I opened this page memories flooded in, together with a major case of goosebumps. Still have this branded in my head since my teens... you can't beat an all JRSr's Gwen Stacy, the love of my youth.
Such a great issue, and I've always loved the Prowler's proto-Spawn costume. Wish I could attend this exhibit.

Actually, the good thing is that I didn't because they were crazily priced. I got this later on from JPL directly for a much, much more affordable price. That was a beatuiflly illustrated series and the Galactus/Celestials pages were just out of this world.

First Frank Frazetta and now Jeffrey Catherine Jones. It's just as bad as when we lost Jack Kirby and Frank Zappa in just a few months. And the world gets poorer and poorer...
I remember meeting her at NYC National Con, the period was the one portraied in the top right photo. It was great to finally shake hands after reading her passionate and humourous posts on Comicart-L.

Tyler, Risso penciled this cover, but the final painting was done by Fernando Rossia. Just like the later Next Men covers, penciled by John Byrne and painted by Gary Cody.
This said, congrats on this acquisition: I sold this one during my first year working with Eduardo.

Grazie della precisazione, Marco: in effetti, pur essendo uno Zaffino non ancora al top, presenta alcuni dei suoi tratti peculiari, soprattutto nel pannello finale, molto oscuro e quindi poco "villagraniano".
L'avevo acquistato come Villagran ma di sicuro non mi lamento di questa scoperta, anzi... ora procedo a correggere i dati!

Well, the mofo is known to have taken more than a fair amount of punishment and getting away on his feet. Also, I re-read the last issue and there's a detail that escaped me at first (damn, Brian & Eduardo sure can fit a lot of those in, huh?), so you might be quite right. Miniseries coming?

This picture, which was part of an article written by Michael James Zuccaro for the award-winning magazine "The Jack Kirby Collector", is what actually made the idea of a Zappa-themed sketchbook spring to my mind.
I mean, why not put the entertainment forms I like most together? Well, I should've found a way to add Clint Eastwood to the mix, but that's beyond the point... anyway, this is what i did, and you can see the results in the Utility Muffin Art Kitchen.
Len, thanks for posting a good copy of this picture! There was so much talent and genius and creativity in a single spot at that time that the ground could've caved in.
