Vaughn Bode - Junkwaffel #2 back cover 1971 Owner: robert wiener Comment posted on 3/3/2014 While this wouldn't pass the litmus test for politically correct humor today... Frank Frazetta: The Silver Warrior prelim Owner: Fredo Le Comment posted on 2/23/2014 What a wonderful addition into your collection, and it's great to have the prelim beside the finished piece. The art teacher may have had her points, but judging by the overall success and immediate recognition of this painting by almost all fantasy fans... Frazetta's placement of the sword was fairly immaterial... I also had to do a double-take, as I'd never noticed there were no harnesses on the bears! |

Bernie Wrightson Zombie Punisher Owner: Danny Lewandowski Comment posted on 1/4/2014 What a great prelim for the cover of The Punisher: Purgatory #3. I happen to have the prelim for the first issue in my gallery and love The Punisher stories and movies. The fact this has "Frank Castle" on the tombstone is just too cool. Myself, I think Ennis would have had more than a run for his money if Wrightson had done both the pencils and inks instead of just the prelims and pencils, but we're all due our own opinions! Great pick-up and congratulations! |

Concept art/Prelim to the upcoming prequel to John Carpenter's THE THING by Bernie Wrightson Owner: Robbie Cook Comment posted on 12/30/2013 "The Thing" will always be a great cornerstone in Sci-Fi/Monster movie history! I've not seen too many of Wrightsons sketches for this, but earlier this year I was quick enough on the draw (no pun intended) to pick up his "You gotta be f'in kidding" piece, and you can tell Wrightson to, was a huge fan! Very cool piece, thanks for sharing! |

Vaughn Bode Mock IF Science Fiction Color Cover Owner: Johnny C. Comment posted on 11/13/2013 This is great, but I've never seen the "mock" terminology before? I've got one similar to this, which is "preliminary" piece to an actual cover. It's one of my first framings, so it needs a little work now that I know what I'm doing, I'll get back to it someday! I tried to find your piece as a cover, but didn't have any luck. However, I didn't find mine either doing a brief Google search, but since I've got an actual copy of the magazine, I know mine was a preliminary. Regardless, this is really cool... |

Vaughn Bode character design page Owner: Ray Weisfeld Comment posted on 11/13/2013 >1000 views and not a single "This is awesome" comment... What's the world coming to? When I was a kid in the early 70's, I just loved Vaughn Bode's sense of humor. It was a little sick and twisted, but so were a lot of thing during the tumultuous changes at the "end of the innocence". Bode was "right on" with satirical and time based humor, and for some of us... It's still great stuff! Great page! |
