It's Ditko's lettering, so chances are Steve did it himself- not neccesarily for a house ad, possibly for a later 'zine appearance?

A real piece of history- Pepe before he joined S.I and became a star. You can see how much Marilyn meant to him even as a teenager. I'd love to have included this in my Pepe book!

Good Lord- what a mastepiece! Ron was an incredible artist. I must admit I don't recognise it from Look and Learn, and in the absense of any notation on the back I'd say it probably wasn't done for any Fleetway or OPC titles. Possibly an Osprey book?

What a fantastic cover, by the best artist in American comics of the last 40 years. I've always regarded Jose as the natural successor to Neal Adams at DC, and it's covers like this that prove that point.

This really is incredibly special- For once the word Poetic is apt, this is sheer poetry.

This is so special. Coming after Neal Adams' incrdible run this could so easiy have been an anticlimax, but John and Tom easily matched the previous issues for quality and excitement. This splash feels so iconic now.

A fantastic pice of history and far superior to the published artwork. If I'm being honest the second series didn't grab me anything lke as much as the first, but the pencils here show that Jim was still absolutely at the peak of his powers. If only he'd inked it as well!

It's definitely roigher in the inks, but it has pretty much every chaacter from the whole storyline. Which is better? There's only one way to find out......!

I have a similar panel postcard, very possibly from this same strip- very possibly from the same page! I had aways believed the art was by Forgionne and Abel, but I'm happy to beieve it's Keefer instead.
