Description

You know what the first thing that pops into my head upon seeing this complete? What a wonderful piece of Comic Art it is.

I commissioned Czop to re-do INFINITY GAUNTLET 4, and he responded with a recreation positively dripping with respect for the original art and artist. Not trying to be something it wasn't, no ink-wash, Copic Marker, or paint. (Though John can use those tools with the best of them, too)

I detect real joy for the old-school medium of Comic Art in this piece, and for that, I can only thank Czop.

Also included are a couple of lo-rez photos Czop took for me with his phone as he was working on the piece; most notable to my eye was the fact that he counter-intuitively worked the background first... but which, ultimately, sensibly, was the correct way to go. How do you make a black-costumed character >pop< against a black sky? By executing the inflexible black background first, to leave yourself as much leeway with the character details as possible. Planning.
