Karate Kid vs. Deathstroke by Andy MacDonald

I've been a fan of Andy MacDonald's art for years, ever since I first saw his work in NYC Mech many moons ago. And every time Andy posted a Legion-related commission on his blog, I was envious of its owner, which made me even more eager to get a commission from him for my own collection. I gave Andy a couple opponents to choose from for a Karate Kid piece, and he went with Deathstroke. When Andy sent me the layout of the characters, he asked me if I had a preference for the background, and I chose Legion Headquarters. I chose that location because it looked to me as if Karate Kid is ambushing Deathstroke who has been sneaking around Legion HQ. I figured that maybe Lex Luthor wanted to steal Brainiac 5's technology and he hired Deathstroke to do it for him. Lex would be able to both afford Deathstroke's services and provide a means to time travel. Deathstroke might be able to avoid electronic sensors, and maybe even telepathy, but I figured that Karate Kid might sense an intruder stalking through their base and go after him. And I think that this commission is awesome for multiple reasons. I love the scenario it inspired in my mind, the layout of the figures, the background, and just how awesome Deathstroke and his weapons look! Huge thanks to Andy for another incredible commission!

Slade Wilson may be stronger and faster than Val Armorr, but he's simply not as skilled. I think that this would be one heck of a tussle, and Slade's weapons would prolong the fight a bit, but of course I ultimately think that Val will come out on top. Val's got moves that Slade's never seen before, and that he just has no defense for. It would still be difficult for Val to put Slade down, but I believe that it's gonna happen.

Andy's one of my favorites as well, Travis. This piece showcases his stellar compositional skill and flawless linework. Congrats!
