Description

I'm pretty excited about this piece. I had the idea on the plane Friday, started working on it Saturday, and finished it today (Monday), which is a lot faster than I normally work. The pose is Rodin's Balzac, but it's Hellboy! What I like about it is that it's huge, maybe 20 x 30. I've had an idea for about a year now to do very large high-contrast brush and ink images with just certain areas highly rendered, and the rest slightly out of focus or flat, and this is the first one that I've really figured out. This was way too big for my scanner, so I had to pin it on the wall and take a photo of it with my phone which is why the color is so different.
