DescriptionArvo "Tiikeri" Tigerstedt (1899-1969) is to my knowledge the only full-time sports cartoonist in Finnish history. He worked for a sports magazine from 1920 to 1929, after which he moved to the biggest daily newspaper in the country, Helsingin Sanomat. He staid with them until his retirement in 1957, having produced more than 5000 cartoons and a dozen or so book collections. His career included coverage of five Olympic games.Social/Sharing |
