Description
"Viola Giramondo" is the graphic novel by Teresa Radice (script) and Stefano Turconi (art) that preceded "Il Porto Proibito".

It's an all ages story where the protagonist, named Viola (just like the flower, the color, the musical instrument) Vermeer, member of the Cirque de la Lune family, is a young and joyous and curious little girl that loves beauty in all its forms. During her journey throughout the world -from Paris to New York, from the Venetian lagoon to India, from Canada to Amsterdam, from Damascus to Himalaya- she'll meet extraordinary people...

Here's page 12, with Viola, Samir and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec at the Moulin Rouge.
Turconi's artwork is fluid, dynamic, delightfully cartoonish. Everything on the page is accurately and carefully designed.
If you take a look at the published page, you'll see how the mix of colored pencils on paper and digital color worked out (amazingly, if you ask me).

Many thanks, Antonio!
