Karate Kid vs. Michelangelo by Chad Thomas and Simon Gough

I've always planned on eventually having commissions of Karate Kid fighting all four of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and now I have three out of four! Chad Thomas is a super talented artist and a really nice guy who I met a while back at a New Orleans convention. He did a great Chameleon Boy sketch for me at the show and I knew after that I would eventually set up a bigger commission with him. And man, did he deliver! Chad's take on Michelangelo is one of my favorites ever, and I really dig the nunchaku action going on here and the look of determination on Mikey's face. He knows he's in for a heck of a fight with Karate Kid. I also really love the sewer background and the inclusion of the Legion Flight Ring! Gotta love the attention to detail! Years after I received this from Chad, I passed it over to Simon Gough to color, and he did a spectacular job! Karate Kid is colored to look like he'd fit right in with the Turtles' animated series! Huge thanks to Chad and Simon for knocking this one out of the park!

Well, I obviously think that Val Armorr's gonna win this one, but it may not be as easy as he thinks. Michelangelo jokes around a lot, and that sometimes makes his opponents underestimate him, but he is one heck of a fighter. I think that both characters would enjoy this bout before Mikey calls it off and suggest they just go enjoy a pizza instead!

Totally digging this!! My two suggestions for future Karate Kid opponents: Yang and Juggernaut.

I even commented on the Juggernaut commission and had forgotten about it. Yow! And yes, Charlton's Yang is the one I'm referring to. Glad to see he's on the to-do list.
