Description

I went to Tokyo for Manga and comics. I went into many of the larger Manga shops like Animate and Mandarake in Ikebukuro (where I stayed) and in Akihabara. My favorite one was a small, dingy store in the booksellers district of Jinbocho. I got a tip from Peter about a store. It was on the second floor and there was a curry restaurant in the back. I had that and a scan of the receipt (in Japanese) and that is all I had to go on. Thankfully the curry shop was rather well known and so I located the block it was on. With some help from some people walking by, I was able to locate the unsigned shop on the second floor. It was pretty cool, to get to the Curry shop, you had to walk up the stairs and through the manga shop. I had just eaten otherwise I would have tried the curry. The shop was small. It smelled of old comics and paper which I love. It was crammed. So much so that they had original art on the ceiling because there was no where else to display it. Below are pictures from this store. It is the only place I found in Tokyo with original comic/manga art for sale.
