DescriptionI was lucky enough to manage to get to Comic-Con International San Diego for the second time in 2003, and this was the first sketch I got during that great trip. I was determined to get a contribution from the amazing George Perez, who's probably my favorite comic artist of all time. George was with CrossGen Comics at the time, and that now-defunct publisher was great when it came to make its talent available to fans.As I do with all artists I approach with this themed sketchbook, I told George to draw whatever he wanted. I love his choice of an iconic super-hero character and a silly, comedic tone. He used a thin-tipped marker for this sketch, but you can see the rough pencils as well. The Hulk has always been an over-the-top, extreme character, but Perez exaggerated his features even more for this cute, entertaining image. So glad to include this wonderful artist in my highly personalized collection of quick comic art. Social/Sharing |
