Description

Judd Winick is best known for his Pedro and Me graphic novel from years ago and his mainstream super-hero writing for Marvel and DC. Today, he's working on Hilo, a graphic-novel series for young readers and is enjoying solid success with it. But for me, my favorite Winick project will be The Adventures of Barry Ween. The foul-mouthed, sci-fi action made for fascinating and hilarious results with the coming-of-age aspects of the character and concepts.

So imagine my thrill to find that Winick's contribution to this sketchbook would be a Ween drawing. The image sums up the profane and funny qualities of the property perfectly.

Obtained at the San Diego con in 2003.
