DescriptionI've been enjoying Coates/Stelfreeze's recent Black Panther (BP) run and one of my favorite visuals was Stelfreeze having BP's mask come over his head in a Kirby tech-ish sort of way as an homage to one of BP's creators. A simple yet unique and effective way to take a hallmark from the King and bring it to today! I've included an image of the panels from the first issue so you can take a look firsthand. So, I wanted to get a commission of this from Brian at the recent Fan Expo Dallas, and luckily enough was the last to get on his list (whew!) and as you can see it came out great! An awesome example of the concept - great face, got the Kirby tech, and the colors truly make it pop. To pull that off he used paints, watercolors, inks...a real mixed media piece. One of my favorite characters done right for sure! Thanks, Brian! 9/18/18 update - included a pic of the piece framed! All of my framed pieces are variations of black frames with black mattes. This has more of tech-y frame and I used an orange lip on the matte that I think works well with the colors to subtlety frame the head shot. Thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

What a fantastic commission! Colors, design and perfect adherence to actual Black Panther by actual cool BP Artist. The King spirit rules!

This looks WAY cooler than the published art- and it's so striking and unique! You got one hell of a commission here!

A couple of the descriptions this year have been “gorgeous” and “beautiful” and I totally agree...so I had to get this beaut framed and on the wall! Just added a pic today. Thanks for the comment, Damon!

A perfect frame choice as well, subtle geometry in the moulding, correct? Very cool!

Corrrectamundo! The fact that it's an all black frame adds to the subtlety, as you say, and the geometric shapes/lines are all up/down, left/right, no diagonal. Turned out nice, I'd say - glad you like!

Iconic image from Stelfreeze even more so now, as it has become a widely known symbol of BP top tier CAF excellence.
