Description

I have read for years other collectors getting their perfect childhood page but never had a chance before to get my own. Yes this Jack Kirby Jimmy Olsen page has been my secret "grail" for years.

I liked super heroes growing up but really liked monsters. I only occasionally got comic books but when I found JO 142 and 143 (The Man from Transilvane! and The Genocide Spray!) this two part story took Kirby imagination to a new level, a planet where everyone is a 1940s movie monster. These were the comics that I kept over the years and still re-read.

The page also has a "wonderful" feature of Kirby's time at DC. There are additional inks by Murphy Anderson (Jimmy Olsen head)

My sole Kirby is from the J.O. run and, like yours, the comic it is from has a special place in my comic-reading memory for various reasons. As for your page, Transilvane and its monster-movie inhabitants made for a wildly inventive and fun read.
